Free plan limits
Lifetime caps for imported and shared-library stories, per-story word limits, and where to check your usage.
Who this applies to
Free plan limits apply to Users on the FREE tier. Paid accounts are not subject to these lifetime story caps or per-story word limits.
Imported stories cap
An imported story is content you bring in yourself — paste, file upload, YouTube URL, or similar — rather than a copy from the shared library.
- The cap is lifetime: each successful import increments your count until you reach the limit.
- Your current used / cap appears on Settings → Account → Free plan and on the Shared Library page when you are on the free plan.
- When you are at the cap, you cannot add another imported story until your account moves to a paid tier.
Shared library cap
A shared library import creates your private Story linked to a Shared story catalog row.
- This cap is also lifetime and counts each story you add from the shared library (including bulk series imports).
- Deleting a story does not restore capacity. Once a slot is used, it stays used even if you remove the copy from My Stories.
- Check used / cap on Settings → Account → Free plan or on the Shared Library page.
Per-story word limit
Separate from the lifetime story counts, each import path enforces a maximum number of Words (analyzed tokens) in a single operation:
- New import (paste, file, or URL)
- File import into an existing story
- Full text replacement on an existing story
If your source exceeds the limit, the import or replace is rejected with an error. The current maximum is shown next to your usage on Settings → Account → Free plan and the Shared Library page.
Paid tier
Paid users do not have imported-story caps, shared-library caps, or per-story word limits on these dimensions.
